Prof. Dr. Moacir Ponti

Data Science Expert at Mercado Livre, and part-time Associate Professor of Computer Science at the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Sciences, University of São Paulo (ICMC / USP). Was academic visitor at the Centre for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing (CVSSP), University of Surrey in 2016-2017. Received the Google Latin America Research Award in 2017-2018.

Co-autor of the book Machine Learning (2018, Springer). Received his doctorate (2008) and master's (2004) degrees at the Universidade Federal de São Carlos. His research interests are Digital Signal Image and Video Processing and Machine Learning. He is currently developing research projects on deep learning, representations learning with applications in signal, image and video, as well as data quality for machine learning.
